Michael Molthan: New Mental Health Survey helps prevent addiction and substance abuse.

There's a new mental health survey and intervention program in King County Washington that says it's going to be able to detect and prevent teen substance abuse as well as identify feelings of anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Is this something that can actually prevent addiction and suicide?
Yes, this is a great program. The first step in recovery is getting honest. It's getting these kids to realize through this survey to admit that they're powerless over drugs and alcohol and that their life is unmanageable.
Is this a different survey than the national drug and alcohol addiction profile?
The questions don't change no matter the survey. It's going to ask the right questions to try and get these kids to be honest with themselves. What's so frustrating about this disease is that you can't hep me until I self-diagnose myself.
